It's hard to believe I leave in less than a week to study abroad for a semester in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Studying abroad has always been a dream of mine because I'm passionate about learning about new cultures and languages and meeting people that come from backgrounds different from my own, but now that I am actually leaving it's a little nerve racking! I don't know what to expect and I'm traveling totally on my own. But, at the same time, I'm getting super excited to begin this adventure. What other time in my life will I be able to live in a country as unique as Ecuador? I can't wait to meet my host-family, find out my service placement, practice my Spanish, and explore all that Ecuador has to offer. I hope that I can always be present and in the moment, be flexible and open to new things and different perspectives, and have a positive and transformative experience. Here goes nothing!
